Parks and Green Spaces

Brook End Gardens is a great community area close to local schools and homes.

This is a family-orientated park. It is a perfect place to fly a kite. There are no power lines to get in the way and it always seems windy. It is fenced all around which makes it safer for children. There are cycle racks and a cycle/footpath leading to Chancellor Park. A Trim Trail is also available for family use.

The main garden area is called Choices Garden and:

•was designed with the help of local children
•uses plants that tolerate dry conditions
•all flowers planted are readily available and inexpensive

The centre piece of the park is a large metal sculpture made from recycled stainless steel. It is decorated with images copied from gold coins which came from the time of Cunobelin (a Celtic King of Britain in the pre-Roman era). The coins are on display at Chelmsford Museum. For more information please see Coins and tokens

DNA Bootcamp operates in the park. This is a mixed gender class held outdoors that can have you to lose weight, tone up and get fit. For more information on this please visit their website at

Access is from Chelmer Village Way or Brook End Road.
